Some Additional Kitchen Updates… More House Updates
Filed Under (Uncategorized) by admin on 23-12-2009
The painting is basically done it really doesn’t matter much especially given the fact that most of the walls are going to be covered up by either cabinets or the eventual tile backsplash. The next step is to remove the old gas line from where the stove was and then solder on new connections for the sink to the existing copper pipe. I also need to run an additional circuit up for the dishwasher.

The Dreaded Snow Cat
Filed Under (Uncategorized) by admin on 19-12-2009
I attempted to get my cat Hope to shovel. She wasn’t too happy being woken up at 9am and having her plump cat body planted outside for a snow picture. Since she is feeling better I figured I would let her see the outdoors and snow. Now if only I could train her to shovel she would earn her keep but I don’t think that is happening anytime soon. Image sleeping and then on the prowl outside. meow meow

Driving…And Xmas Memories
Filed Under (Random Thoughts) by admin on 17-12-2009
For the first time in a long time I decided to just take a drive last night around and look at the various Christmas light displays around the area. I remember as a kid probably only going through neighborhoods maybe once to look at the brightly lit up displays with my parents. Technology has now aided in the ‘wow’ factor as there are now blow up snow globes and Xmas lights which are tied to electronics that are able to cycle lights on and off to all types of music. Just driving around I tried to remember what present I got as a kid that made me the most excited. As nerdy as it sounds it was probably my first computer. I remember sneaking down in the middle of the night and seeing the outline of a monitor. I was so excited and I remember messing with it from dawn to dusk up until the point where I somehow caused it to completely error out while attempting to play a video game. Fixing that machine was my first challenge and the rest is now history as they say.
I’d say the second most exciting present I received as a kid was Super Mario 3 for Nintendo. It was the one game I wanted and when Xmas arrived was nowhere to be found in the designated area of the den where presents typically lay. Each year my parents seemed to always have that one special present that was left hidden until most of the day had past .. just like in the movie Christmas story where the red rider bb gun isn’t discovered until all the other presents have been unwrapped. Once I saw the yellow box with Mario and his raccoon tail hidden under some newspapers I became so excited but pretended as if I hadn’t found the treasure. So I did what I can do pretty well and just kept bugging my dad about whether or not there were any hidden presents leftover. I must have played that game for hours straight and to the point of utter exhaustion.
Since that time many things have changed and Christmas isn’t exactly the same but the memories are really nice to reflect back on.

Change In Color…More House Updates
Filed Under (House) by admin on 12-12-2009
Well after just one coat of the Raffia Cream paint I decided to change the paint color for the kitchen to Oat Straw. It’s a little bit darker and I think it will put more of a contrast against things.

Some Paint Goes On Walls…More House Updates
Filed Under (House) by admin on 10-12-2009
With kitty-kat Hope doing a little better I decided to put on the first coat of paint into the kitchen. I really didn’t even have to paint everything I did because most of the walls are going to be covered with cabinets and underneath with tile backsplashes. I believe the paint I used was Rafia Cream. Another coat will have to go on before anything and then I may try to smooth the walls a little bit more with spackle and paint over some areas again. Below are some images of the first coat. Things were still wet so it’s hard to tell the real color in addition to the light in the room being a single bulb.
